OVERVIEW
From pasture to porch — Our Farms delivers directly from the farm to you, using climate-optimized shipping, ensuring your groceries arrive as they were intended.
Here’s what you can expect every step of the way.
Definitions
To make this guide easier to follow, here are a few terms you’ll see throughout:
-Farmer: The individual or business that grows, makes, or produces the products available on Our Farms.
-Fulfillment Center (FC): A trusted partner facility that stores and ships products on behalf of farmers when they need additional support or faster shipping.
-Carrier: The delivery service responsible for transporting your order to your door (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS).
-Climate-Controlled Shipping: A method of packing and routing your order to ensure perishable or temperature-sensitive items arrive fresh and safe — using insulation, cold packs, or weather-aware transit times.
-Bin Packing: The system Our Farms uses to calculate the best way to package your items across multiple farms efficiently and safely.
Where Your Order Ships From
Each order is fulfilled by the farmer or a regional fulfillment center (FC) on their behalf.
-Products go straight from farm to box, skipping unnecessary middle steps.
-Perishable items are shipped using temperature-optimized materials.
-All shipping is purchased through Our Farms to ensure consistency and tracking.
You use AI to pack orders? Yep. Our proprietary bin-packing algorithm ensures efficient, safe delivery of dry and climate-sensitive goods.
Fulfillment Times at the Farm
Each of our farm partners operates independently, which means fulfillment timelines may vary slightly by farm.
Here’s what to expect:
-Most farms ship within 1–2 business days of receiving your order.
-Some farmers fulfill orders once or twice per week, based on product availability (especially for fresh, climate sensitive or made-to-order items).
-During peak harvests or holidays, fulfillment times may be extended — we'll always notify you via email if that’s the case.
Did you know? You can check out the fulfillment times on the product page to know when the farm you’re ordering from picks & packs their products.
Shipping Regions & Delivery Times
Most of our farmers currently deliver across most of the U.S.
Our Farms puts shipping in the hands of our shoppers, allowing them to select how quickly they want a carrier to deliver their products at checkout. The below are estimated delivery schedules:
Region |
Delivery Time Estimate |
Local & Regional |
1–3 business days |
National (Contiguous US) |
2–5 business days |
Rural or Remote Areas |
3–7 business days |
🛑 Some farms may not yet ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or internationally — but we’re working on it!
Stormy forecast?… Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary due to farm location, carrier delays, or extreme weather. Keep an eye on tracking numbers for each order to stay up-to-date on where your package is and when it will get to you.
How Shipping Works
1. Once you check out, we notify each farm included in your order.
2. A shipping label is either auto-generated or a farm buys shipping directly from the carrier.
3. You’ll receive an immediate order confirmation along with real-time updates and a tracking number via email for all of the products in your order.
4. Packages are scanned by the carrier and routed directly to your door.
All of the boxes coming your way will have clear tracking information so that you can see when your package is expected to be delivered by the carrier.
More for me? You may receive multiple boxes depending on how many farms your order includes — but they all arrive tracked and streamlined.
Shipping Costs
Shipping charges are calculated based on:
-Total order weight and dimensions
-Cold chain requirements
-Distance from farm or FC
Our Farms works hard to subsidize shipping costs and offer free or seasonal flat-rate promotions when possible. By aggregating shipping from multiple farms into our shipping network, we are able to offer cost-effective shipping options for all farms in our network.
What about Cold Items?
Unlike most online markets, we specialize in climate-sensitive fulfillment:
-Frozen and refrigerated items are shipped with insulation and cold packs.
-Shipping times are generally pre-determined to ensure your products arrive to you cold and within the correct temperature range.
-Easy tracking with our carriers ensures you know when a cold package will arrive so you can unpack it in a timely manner
Stay Chill. It is recommended that any cold items are unpacked and refrigerated or frozen quickly after delivery to ensure maximum freshness of your products.
Problems with Shipping?

Missing Items >
Items that were expected in the box that was delivered.
Delayed or lost packages >
Items that were delayed or scheduled to be delivered, but didn’t make it on time.
